Your Questions Answered About Citric-Acid-Based Cleaning Solutions

As the use of citric-acid-based cleaning solutions increases among consumers and those in the professional cleaning industry, ProNatural Brands is getting more questions about their own citric-acid-based cleaning products and citric-acid-based cleaning products in general.

According to Hannah Jonasse, Marketing Director at ProNatural Brands, here are some of the most frequent questions she receives and her answers:

Are your products in powder or liquid form?

All our products are in liquid form.

Do you need to dilute these products?

Yes and No.  Our 32-ounce, ready-to-use cleaning solutions do not need to be diluted.  However, our gallon-sized solutions do need to be diluted with water.  Instructions are on the label.

Because your products are made from 100 percent natural food additives, do they have an expiration date?

No

Can you use ProNatural Brands cleaning solutions on all types of surfaces?

Use them on non-porous surfaces such as plastic, some stone surfaces, floor tiles, metal, Formica or lament counter tops, stainless steel, etc.

They should not be used on marble, because it is porous or wood, such as cutting boards.

What is the pH level of your products?

Most citric-acid-based cleaning solutions have a pH of three to about six, making them relatively neutral – not too acidic and not too alkaline.

Can I use these products around my baby?

Yes.  Take common sense precautions as you would with any cleaning solution.

Can we use citric-acid-based cleaning solutions to clean carpet?

Yes.  It is best, however, to use gallon sized solutions that need to be diluted, not ready-to-use.

What are the main benefits of using your citric-acid-based products?

Along with being effective and comparable to traditional cleaning products used for the same reason, citric-acid-based cleaning solutions:

>Have a minimal impact on the user and the environment.

>Have been tested and proven effective.

>Are very safe to use.

>Our disinfectant is registered with the EPA, proving its effectiveness, and is also effective against the COVID-19 pathogen.

>And what might be their number one benefit is that they are made from very sustainable ingredients.  Citrus fruits are grown all over the world and are very plentiful.

Can your products break down grease and oil?

In many cases, yes.

Are more workers in the professional cleaning industry using citric-acid-based cleaning products?

Yes.  The reasons are many and varied.  But typically, it is because of the benefits of these products, as mentioned earlier.

Do you recommend these products for cleaning restrooms?

Yes.  This is one of the most common ways these products are used.

After using these products, do we need to rinse the surface with tap water?

No, that is not necessary.  Removing this step also speeds up the cleaning process.

Do your products have a fragrance or scent?

Our disinfectant can now be purchased with Vanillin.  An organic compound made from vanilla beans, it leaves a very pleasant fragrance.

Can we use these products in a kosher kitchen or a Jewish deli?
